Nigel is an experienced M&A and outsourcing and IT legal advisor, transaction manager and commercial negotiator with over 15 years’ experience working in and for the financial services sector and companies that supply that industry. He has worked in both legal and business roles and has proven transaction management capability and is skilled at delivering astute and innovative legal and commercial solutions on large-scale IT, M&A, on/off-shore outsourcing and other projects. He is an excellent relationship manager, facilitator and trouble-shooter with the ability to build strong client relationships and maintain a strategic perspective to drive results.

Biography

Nigel has predominantly worked in in-house roles and has spent time working at Standard Chartered Bank, Goldman Sachs, Citi and latterly in consulting businesses. Nigel has gained a broad understanding of the dynamics of M&A and ITO/BPO outsourcing transactions in financial services, as advisor, transaction manager, negotiator and lawyer. Having worked in different capacities as both business advisor and lawyer he brings a “global” perspective to bear on the transactions in which he is involved. He has also worked on a broad range of cross-border transactions throughout his career.

In addition to being a qualified solicitor acting and advising on transactions, Nigel is also skilled at transaction management and the co-ordination of multiple work-streams concerning business, consulting, compliance, tax, operations, technology and legal input – the elements that make a deal “work”. He has a proven ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders in difficult change scenarios and is able to communicate complex and contentious issues confidently and clearly to a broad range of individuals and groups in a constructive and supportive manner.
