Anthony is a commercial lawyer with international experience

As a commercial lawyer who has worked and lived nationally and internationally, Anthony has been a leader in building teams, developing and reorganising businesses, has sat on Boards in the UK and abroad and chaired an international strategy committee for a leading firm. Clients call him their external / internal general counsel, and with good reason. He has worked with clients who have changed the world and is looking to use his experience, expertise and networks to help the next generation of entrepreneurs to do so too.

After a decade of knockabout general commercial practice in the UK and the UAE, Anthony joined Clyde & Co. in 1990 to develop a commercial practice in the Guildford office. The practice focused on the subsidiaries of inward investing multinationals within the M25 and locally based PLCs. Over time, Anthony’s team developed a business law group, the model for which forms the basis of that firm’s MENA regional practice (and Jurit LLP).

Anthony was a member of the local PYBT board, helping disadvantage young adults to create a business – a humbling experience – and with Surrey First, a private public initiative to attract inward investment to the county.

In 1999, and as a Partner in Clyde & Co., the family moved to Dubai. Through the ups of the hectic growth of the City state and downs of the Gulf War, 9/11 and a deep recession, Anthony was key in creating a well-regarded, well – run, full service, regional practice, providing 250 jobs in a respectful environment to people from over 30 countries.

Returning to the UK in 2012, Anthony continues to be determined to make the most of his rich experience, expertise and connections made over his career and to help create a network of trusted practitioners (a virtual corporate office) to support an innovation ecosystem.

Anthony truly believes that Jurit, along with other initiatives, is the means by which that objective will, hopefully, be fulfilled.
